Wonderfully charming if cosy hotel. Not for the claustrophobic, infirm or those unable to sleep without air con. Hopefully the experience will only improve when guests can eat in the dining room as opposed to their rooms. Ideal central location, surprisingly quiet given that it is adjacent to a popular pub

Our usual place to stay in Oxford. Right in the center, adjacent to several colleges, and next to an ancient pub popular with students and faculty. Kind people run it. Rooms are relatively small, and prices relatively high, and no air conditioning. But love it to death.

This is a fun hotel. Very central and full of character . If you are after a sterile posho city centre designer space then this probably not for you. It is set in a 300 ish year old building with small rooms and some of the decor is quite dated but this gives a wonderful atmosphere . The bed was very comfortable , staff excellent and good breakfast . Our room backed onto the courtyard of the Turf Tavern which was not noisy and was very convenient .

Quiet hideaway right in the center of Oxford. Place is old and worn, with tiny rooms and steep narrow stairs - and that's what gives it such a unique character! Very nice and accommodating hosts. In walking distance to everything Oxford (pubs, food, shops, colleges). If you want a sterile, clean & straightforward chain hotel - move on. If you want a quiet place to enjoy Oxford's history - then stay.

Had a lovely few days stay here it is in a great location staff were friendly rooms were clean, small but quirky as you would expect from a 16th century building. Pub next door was great too. Parking nearby was handy too

This is a charming hotel that has character. The staff are friendly and helpful. When I come back to Oxford I will be sure to stay at this hotel. Room: The room that I stayed in was unique and exuded the 17th century character. If you want everything modern this probably isn't the place for you. We were very close to the pub and so it can be noisy. We also stayed during graduation/formal and so the surrounding area could have a party going on. (Late June timeframe)

I was surprised to read that Bath Place Hotel got the reviews it did. I'm sure it shouldn't be classed as luxury hotel, but when I stayed in October 2012 the service was good from everyone I met, particularly the two older ladies. Breakfast included in the rate is like a buffet, but has croissants and cold meat and cheese. I don't eat English breakfast, but it was available if you wanted. No sausages though, which might be seen as a shame. The coffee is very good, and prepared for each person. The room I had had a DVD player and cute sloping floors. It faced the Turf Tavern and was very lively until closing time which was well before midnight.

The suite was quaint, spacious, lots of character, right in the centre of town and cool in the heat of summer. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Lovely stay for a weekend trip.
